It was darkening, the suns setting in the east cast a weakening glow, but even that did not deter them. There were ten of them, ten climbing up the side of mountain that put mount Everest on earth to shame. They climbed slowly, easily, without rope or other aid, taking time to find hand holds. They were silent, only the wind and the ruffling of their cloaks, the only clothing they wore other than simple loose shorts; the distant sound of waves crashing onto Kraskan point steadied their rhythm and quickened their pace.
